The Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CAM-CCBC) has released the fourth volume of its digital publication series featuring public arbitral awards, reinforcing its role as a reference in promoting transparency and disseminating legal knowledge.
This edition compiles decisions issued in arbitration proceedings involving strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy, such as real estate, finance, construction, and energy. The awards included were made public for legal or judicial reasons and provide valuable insights for legal professionals, researchers, and students to examine the reasoning behind complex market disputes.
Topics covered include foreign exchange derivatives operations, enforceability of contractual clauses, breach of contract, and revision due to excessive burden. The volume also highlights disputes related to delays and cost overruns in thermoelectric plant projects, as well as claims for compensation and economic-financial rebalancing.
With accessible language and a well-structured format, the publication contributes to the ongoing debate on arbitration in Brazil and reinforces CAM-CCBC’s commitment to quality, integrity, and transparency in proceedings conducted under its rules.
Previous volumes in the series address Public Administration, Corporate Matters, and Commercial Contracts. Access it for free: https://www.ccbc.org.br/cam-ccbc-centro-arbitragem-mediacao/sentencas-arbitrais-publicas/
