Young professionals interested in arbitration participated in an event focused on networking and exchanging experiences with professionals at various stages of their careers. The commission, formed by the new generation of arbitrators from the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC), New Generation CAM-CCBC (NewGen), organized the NewGen Arbitration Connect on the 14th of March.

The event featured an exclusive format: five tables with six seats each, with a mentor invited to lead the discussions. Participants were pre-selected by the NewGen Steering Committee.

Among the mentors were Ricardo Aprigliano, Silvia Pachikoski, Mariana Craveiro, Lie Uema do Carmo, Carlos Elias, and César Pereira.

The initiative aims to bring young professionals closer to specialists in the field, fostering relevant debates in a relaxed environment, as highlighted by CAM-CCBC’s Deputy Secretary-General, Ana Flávia Furtado. “NewGen Arbitration Connect provides a unique opportunity for young people interested in ADRs to interact with major players in an informal setting. In this way, NewGen promotes a valuable intergenerational exchange, which we believe is an important vehicle for renewing and strengthening the market,” she said.

Maúra Guerra Polidoro, from the NewGen Steering Committee, emphasized the importance of initiatives like this:
“In arbitration, networking is essential for career development. It is through connections that new career opportunities arise, we learn from the experience of professionals who have already paved the way, and sometimes, we build lasting friendships. This NewGen initiative offers young professionals the chance to expand their network and stand out in the market.”

Any young person interested in the field, with prior experience in arbitration or other dispute resolution methods, and aged 40 or younger, can join NewGen CAM-CCBC for free.
