Recognition at the GAR Awards 2026 in France highlights the institution’s prominence in Latin America and reinforces the growth of Brazilian arbitration on the global stage

The Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CAM-CCBC) received one of the main awards from Global Arbitration Review, one of the world’s leading publications specializing in arbitration and an international benchmark for coverage of the sector. The Brazilian institution won the Guide to Regional Arbitration Award for Arbitral Institution That Impressed at the GAR Awards 2026.
The award recognizes arbitral institutions that have demonstrated outstanding performance, a solid reputation, and relevant contributions to the development of arbitration in their respective countries or regions. The recognition reinforces CAM-CCBC’s role as one of the leading arbitration centers in Latin America.
According to Silvia Rodrigues Pachikoski, vice president of CAM-CCBC, receiving this distinction at the GAR Awards is highly significant for Brazilian arbitration. “The award reflects not only the quality of our work, but also the continuous effort of our entire community to strengthen arbitration in the country and its relevance on the international stage,” she said.
Silvia attended the award ceremony, which took place in late March at the Pavillon Gabriel in Paris, France, as part of Paris Arbitration Week—one of the most important events on the global arbitration calendar, bringing together professionals, institutions, and experts from around the world.
In its 16th edition, the event gathered around 495 participants at the official dinner and approximately 1,400 people throughout the week’s celebrations, setting a record attendance. The program also included the release of important rankings, such as the GAR 30 and the Expert Witness Power Index, as well as awards across multiple categories recognizing excellence in international arbitration.
CAM-CCBC was shortlisted among globally prominent institutions in its category and was particularly recognized for the significant growth of its international activities while maintaining high standards of quality—an aspect highlighted by the award organizers.
In addition to CAM-CCBC, other leading names and institutions in the field were also recognized, including the law firm White & Case, which topped the GAR 30 ranking; the consultancy Secretariat, highlighted among expert witnesses; the Brazilian law firm Mattos Filho, recognized in the Latin America category; and arbitrator Mohamed Abdel Wahab, awarded as one of the most prominent professionals. Institutions such as the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and KCAB International were also recognized for initiatives related to sustainability in arbitration.
