More than ever, the ability to foster effective business opportunities for its members should be one of the greatest assets of a Chamber of Commerce in this and the coming years. Global uncertainties, economic and political challenges, and the rise of a new world geopolitical order demand extra efforts from companies and institutions engaged in international markets. The difference between success and failure may lie in choosing the right partners, gaining access to accurate information, and receiving adequate support for decision-making.<\/p>
With more than 50 years of activity, the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada has been a benchmark partner for all those interested in expanding bilateral relations between Brazil and Canada.<\/p>
The experience gained over the years in building and managing relationships among key players in the economic, social, and cultural spheres of both countries has given the institution a unique ability to understand the needs of its members and partners. This know-how makes it possible to identify the best ways to serve them.<\/p>
In 2026, the CCBC enters the year revitalized and ready to play a decisive role in the process of building business opportunities for those who seek it as support for their institutional and commercial activities. At the same time, it remains firmly committed to fundamental societal values, with transparency, governance, and sustainability aligned with best management practices, while investing efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion.<\/p>
Throughout 2025, the intense activity of the 11 Sectoral Committees and seven Regional Chapters in Brazil, combined with the continuous work of the internal teams in Business Development, Market Intelligence, and Relationship Management, helped eliminate distances and enabled meetings that supported the activities of companies interested in the various themes related to Brazil and Canada.<\/p>
In the field of trade missions, delegations organized around events such as PDAC, in the mining sector, and SIAL Canada, in the food and beverage sector, have already become established in the annual events calendar as highly successful initiatives. In parallel, events such as the Brazil-Canada Economic Forum, Canada Day, the Brazil-Canada Summit, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Forum brought together stakeholders and experts from both countries for in-depth discussions on market trends.<\/p>
On Canadian soil, the Chamber of Commerce Brazil Canada, through its hubs in Quebec and Alberta, provided support to local companies interested in Brazil and to Brazilian enterprises in the process of internationalizing to Canada. Partnerships with renowned educational, research, and economic development institutions, such as Edmonton Global and the University of Alberta, further strengthened this vocation throughout the year.<\/p>
On the institutional front, the CCBC maintained an open dialogue with Brazilian government representatives in Canada and Canadian government representatives in Brazil, in support of the development of bilateral relations. This enabled the Chamber to closely follow and support efforts to resume negotiations for the Mercosur\u2013Canada Free Trade Agreement.<\/p>
Through partnerships with private sector associations and regional development agencies, such as Invest Paran\u00e1 and the Quebec Investment Agency, it was also possible to promote initiatives of specific interest, further expanding the Chamber\u2019s reach.<\/p>
We believe there is much more to come. We have developed an agenda to further strengthen ties with initiatives involving government leadership and private-sector stakeholders in the short and medium term. Amid numerous global challenges, Brazil and Canada emerge as even stronger partners, with significant synergies in trade and investment.<\/p>
In closing, I invite all our members, partners, and society to explore with us the many opportunities for economic, cultural, and social development offered by Brazil and Canada.<\/p>
