By Pedro Augusto<\/strong><\/p> <\/p> The Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil\u2013Canada (CAM-CCBC) has reaffirmed its position as Brazil\u2019s leading arbitration institution, according to the results of the Arbitration in Numbers 2025 Survey, released this month and coordinated by Professor Selma Ferreira Lemes. The study consolidates data from 2023 and 2024 from the eight largest arbitration chambers operating in the country.<\/p> By the end of 2024, Brazil had 1,219 arbitrations in progress, of which 39.54% were administered by CAM-CCBC\u2014a share more than three times that of the second-ranked institution.<\/p> When considering new proceedings only, the Center\u2019s leadership remains clear. Throughout 2024, the market recorded 376 new arbitrations, involving a total of BRL 76 billion in amounts in dispute. Of this total, CAM-CCBC was selected to administer 33.51% of the new cases, maintaining its position as the most sought-after arbitration chamber in Brazil.<\/p> The survey also indicates that the profile of disputes administered by CAM-CCBC aligns with the most sophisticated segments of the economy. Corporate arbitrations lead both in number of cases and in amounts in dispute, followed by disputes related to construction and energy contracts, which rank second under both criteria.<\/p> According to Rodrigo Garcia da Fonseca, President of CAM-CCBC, the figures reflect the market\u2019s confidence in the institution. \u201cCAM-CCBC\u2019s leadership stems from the credibility built over time, transparency, and the Center\u2019s ability to administer increasingly complex disputes with security, excellence, and the highest level of technical rigor.\u201d<\/p> The Center\u2019s performance also stands out in indicators of complexity and internationalization. In 2024, CAM-CCBC was the chamber that administered the highest number of multi-party arbitrations, with 86 proceedings, and also led in the participation of foreign arbitrators.
