By Marcelo Picolo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The book Mediation with Public Administration<\/em>, released by the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil\u2013Canada (CAM-CCBC), featuring articles written by 29 authors\u2014including arbitrators, mediators, jurists, university professors, and renowned legal professionals\u2014is now available in major bookstores throughout Brazil. The work stands out as one of the few references on the topic and is endorsed by the country\u2019s leading center in the field, according to the Arbitration in Numbers 2024<\/em> survey conducted by scholar and lawyer Selma Ferreira Lemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Published by CLA Editora, the book was coordinated by Adolfo Braga Neto, mediator, professor, lawyer, and Master in Civil Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of S\u00e3o Paulo (PUC-SP). The goal is to promote the use of mediation as an appropriate and efficient method for conflict resolution. \u201cThe idea is for this work to become a reference in the field, helping to break the culture of litigation and encouraging the use of mediation within public administration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Among the authors invited by Braga Neto are Lu\u00edza K\u00f6mell, Secretary-General of CAM-CCBC, and Jamyle Jardim, lawyer and advisor to the institution\u2019s Secretary-General. Together, they co-authored the article \u201cThe New CAM-CCBC Regulation on Public Administration.\u201d<\/em> Another relevant contribution came from Camila David, mediator and case manager at CAM-CCBC, who co-authored the article \u201cMediation in Extreme Climate Events and Public Administration\u201d<\/em> with Elisa Lucena, business mediator and Master in Law from the Ribeir\u00e3o Preto Law School at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Camila brought practical examples to the book on how mediation can be a solution in cases of extreme climate events. \u201cDespite the growth of mediation, there is still much room for it to become widely known and used; in the article, I show how this tool can prove effective in different contexts, including the challenges brought by extreme climate events,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The launch event for Mediation with Public Administration<\/em>, held on August 13, brought together several legal experts.
