Memorandum formalizes partnership between two leading institutions and provides for joint initiatives in events, training and the promotion of gender diversity

The Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CAM-CCBC) has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), one of the world’s leading arbitration institutions.
The initiative reinforces the two institutions’ shared commitment to promoting international arbitration as a widely used method for resolving cross-border disputes, contributing to greater accessibility, efficiency, diversity and effectiveness of this mechanism on a global scale.
The agreement provides for cooperation between CAM-CCBC and SIAC across several areas, including institutional and logistical support for events held in Brazil and Singapore, the joint organization of conferences, seminars, courses and workshops on international arbitration, as well as the sharing of infrastructure for arbitral hearings on preferential terms in both countries.
Another key aspect of the memorandum is its commitment to gender diversity. In jointly organized initiatives and events, the institutions will seek to ensure that at least 30% of speakers are women, promoting representation and balance in activities carried out under the partnership.
“This agreement represents an important step in expanding CAM-CCBC’s international presence and strengthening connections between two of the world’s most important arbitration centers,” said Rodrigo Garcia da Fonseca, President of CAM-CCBC. “The closer relationship with SIAC opens up new opportunities for institutional interaction and the dissemination of best practices in dispute resolution, benefiting users and professionals involved in cross-border disputes,” he added.
