One of the personalities most associated with Vienna in History is the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), who lived about 70 years in the city. But when it comes to Law, the Austrian capital exchanges the traditional divan for the negotiating, mediation and arbitration tables.<\/p>\n
Vienna has become the center of some of the most important academic competitions in the world in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods. A competition of this kind was held in early July and has CAM-CCBC as its platinum partner.<\/p>\n
The Consensual Dispute Resolution Competition (CDRC) brought together four Brazilian university teams supported by CAM-CCBC, amid 33 teams from around the world. The Brazilian institutions are Mackenzie, PUC-SP, FGV-SP and USP.<\/p>\n
CDRC case uses Vis Moot as basis<\/strong><\/p>\n CDRC disputes take place in the Mediation and Negotiation modalities, always based on Willem C. Vis Moot’s annual case, academic arbitration competition held in April and considered the largest in the industry, which brings together about 300 universities in its European edition, also in Vienna.<\/p>\n Vis Moot’s case is tailored to the CDRC’s focus on encouraging students’ ability to use techniques and articulate mediation and negotiation strategies.<\/p>\n “Our support reflects CAM-CCBC’s overseas consolidation strategy as a Center providing mediation services.
